PRISM Users forum

Prism believes that Participation in positive activities helps young people build skills around leadership, flexibility and problem solving. In order for their voices to be heard Prism has its own Users Forum supported by our Participation Worker who meet on a regular basis.

Our Users have recently been discussing various aspects of the Prism Multi-Media Project.  They have:

  • Chosen various courses to be delivered in the Multi-Media studio, such as Developing Sound & Audio Production, Introduction to Using Graphics Software, DJ Technology and Modern Video Recording/Editing Techniques – to name but a few all which can be accredited from OCN Entry Level 3 up to BTEC level.

  • Chosen the colour scheme and furnishings for the studio and the painters & decorators have almost finished realising their vision.

  • Designed the first promotional flyer for the project and have suggested many different avenues for the promotion of the centre.

The Users Forum are also very enthusiastic about the possibility of the multi media project getting involved with the local Children’s Hospice. Collaboration could involve some restoration work at the Children’s Hospice with our young people and in turn the young people from the Children’s Hospice could get involved with the multi media project.

The Users forum arranged for the Multi Media Studio to be officially opened by Jo Jo from Galaxy Radio (above) which was a great success. They were delighted that the Lord Mayor and his wife and many partner agencies were also able to attend the Launch event.
